Roland Holstlaan
I have finally checked out my assigned housing (by DUWO). Arrived at the DUWO office at 1030hrs, only to be greeted by crowds of foreign students with their haversacks and suitcases and slingbags etc. Well, it is the first day of the month... I had to wait an hour before it was my turn. Signed the contract, took the keys, and later in the day, I went to the building.
Murcushof (the building name) is a 6 storey housing for student tenants. All rooms are individual rooms with its own washing sink, wash basin and water closet. On each level, there is one communal kitchen and a few showers. The rooms come fully furnished (as seen in the photos... all furnitures from IKEA), all electricity, water and internet paid for in the monthly rent (324.50 Euros)... Laundry room is on the ground floor, and it costs 3 Euros everytime you wash and dry your clothes! (that's pretty ex... -.-")
Sorry, bad angle, but from this photo you can see the private water closet and a bit of the wash basin and washing sink.
Zongye accompanied me to check out my room. Check it out! My personal fridge and single bed.
These two pictures show the communal kitchen and communal showers on each level. Oh... forgot to mention that genders are not separated by levels like hostels in Singapore. My floor is rather multiracial, with Austrians, Germans, Romanians and PRCs... I spoke with the caretaker of the building (cuz my room is missing a few things from the inventory list, like a clothes cupboard (yes... the whole cupboard) and some hooks for jackets). He's a pretty friendly guy, in his forties I suppose...
I have yet to move into the apartment because I will be travelling with Elita, Ju and Craig later in the day... Sigh, my stay with them is coming to and end. Sianz, but alas, I am also looking forward to having my own room and making more friends! We'll still see each other alot of times in school and at meals in their apartment. Will call a cab (sigh... going to be super ex but... can't be helped I guess... my bike cannot move the suit case!) and move all my stuff into the apartment and stay there from Sunday onwards, just in time for school which starts on Monday.

Well, I was the only Singaporean when I was there. But no worries, it's a great opportunity to meet new people. If you study at TU Delft, then yea there are more Singaporeans / Malaysians there :) top
