    God-like... FOR ASGARD!

    Oh no...! Friday, September 19, 2008 |

    Read more here and here.

kns... this time literally! Thursday, September 11, 2008 |

Went to a site to check out the worksmanship of a particular tender (all classified info cannot say!) and look what mess I got myself into. In retrospect, it was quite funny. The foreman was the leader, followed by my boss, then myself, then my colleague. The site was still quite "wet" on the ground floor. It was noisy with drilling and knocking here and there, and it was dark along the corridor, and I was kinda clumsy trying to keep the white safety helmet on my head. Then boss turns around to tell me something, but I couldn't really catch what he was talking about. Next thing I know, right foot sank into a puddle of wet cement on the floor.

Oh... He was trying to warn me of it -.-"

But no worries, my Pedro isn't say very expensive, and the "damage" was still salvageable with lotsa of water and some brown leather polish. More worksmanship viewing tomorrow. All in a day's work of an architect assistant I guess.

After coming out from NS (sigh, reservist is really disruptive to work... alot of things can happen in 2wks!!!), got some catching up to do. Managing 2 projects. For one of them it is really pure managing. For the other it is in the late stages of design development so I did find some time to design the plan for one floor. Was encouraged that it was accepted without much criticisms / comments, but still tweaking here and there.

Paper work's really piling. Gotta do report here, report there, AI this, AD that... Sometimes I spend more time on Firefox reading all the e-mails flying here and there between consultants, and in Word and Excel. AutoCAD and Photoshop, well... not as much. Not complaining, cuz there is just too much to learn and grasp. After nearly 3 mths, I still feel blur blur. Thankful that my colleagues are more than willing to teach whenever / whatever they can. It does encourage me to extend a helping hand to them wherever possible too, so that I can learn more and also repay them I guess.

Of course, super thankful that the latest I've stayed is 2030hrs... usually a constant 1930hrs :) I know i know... my time will come...

Also learning quite some stuff about the higher end of the spectrum in terms of living standards here in SG. Kitchen island counters that cost 5 digits, sanitary ware that can fetch you a small diamond, and funny foreign names like Rimadesio, Hansgrohe, Axor, Giberit, etc etc... Sometimes... it's a wonder how all these things come together into a house... it's like a small miracle that end of the day everything from all over the world go through the hands of so many people meet to serve the home owner.

It's quite amazing that after 5 yrs in sch, some of the most elementary stuff in the practice ain't taught / talked about...

I do miss some aspects of school though...

Office fax machine really sucks. I feel like killing it everytime it feeds two paper in at one go!

Random shot from phone quite some time ago... Didn't really capture the wordings on Pageant HH's T-shirt well though.

Decided to go to Brewerkz to celebrate this wonderful occasion :) When we were there, it was strangely familiar, cuz of all the lantern displays. Then we realized that the last time we were at Brewerkz it was for the same purpose during the same period! Took some shots using Chet's Sony Ericsson :) Pretty good camera phone. I think this year's deco is much more interesting than last year's!

    Argh... Wednesday, September 03, 2008 |

Felt very restless and frustrated today. One project all paperwork. The other feels directionless. First presentation to office didn't go too well. Alight from bus, downpour and drenched. Pissed.

What's better than a little distraction, being lost in photoshop...?
