    Nostalgia~... Tuesday, June 19, 2007 |

I have a habit of collecting things from young. Well, not just toys lah, but things are embodied with fond memories... I keep them in a "宝贝橱", a drawer in my room... I was packing my room and look what I've uncovered...

Ever carved a bar of soap? Well I'd never, but received it years ago. From Chet, who still couldn't imagine how she managed to pull this feat off! Found it amongst a stack of letters, phone cards and transitlink cards... Hee... very fond memories. Last time no handphone, in JC still using phone cards (and write letters... as in... physically on paper, not e-mail)! U still remember? The phone actually punches a small indentation to mark how much value you have left behind the card...

OAC stuff... The first pic is an egg (emptied) and filled with wax to act like a candle. A door gift from OAC juniors on YLTC night, which they organized for us... The 2nd are 2 items that were passed down from OAC seniors when we took over them as instructors. A chrome sprayed leave with 3 sea-shells to represent the kayak and 3 new sea-chiefs... signed behind by Chongtian, Evan and Eliza. The other is a rope, from the previous campcraft chiefs. The other is with Jonathan i think... but, bet he lost his... right? Haha.

Army stuff! Was involved in the later part of my NS service in National Day Parade. All we did was fill balloons with helium and string them up. Pretty memorable. Eat KFC and Pizza Hut until you get sick of them. Burn wkends and get mondays off, etc... And pins from BMTC. Dunno why I have 2... Hope nobody got into trouble for it...? Hmmmmmm...

    Marvel Fever! Sunday, June 10, 2007 |

Guess the Spider-man fever is just about over... Totally liked the movie. Here're some old Spider-man action figures that to me are the best of each character (except for Abomination, hence you see him lying flat on the ground). These photographs are fresh from my Olympus and underwent some photoshopping treatment. In case you are a movie buff but never a real Spidey comics fan, that's how the Green Goblin looks like, and the lightning bolts around Spidey means his Spider sense just went cranky.

Spidey fever's gone, but FF fever (FFF? hmmm...) is just around the corner. Below's some Jessica Alba goodness. Arguably, it's she who made this action figure amongst the most wanted, and increased invisible woman's fan base!

    House Renovation Monday, June 04, 2007 |

Mom employed some painters to paint the house exterior. Time sure flew, as we've lived in this house for 18 years... I remember it was during the holidays before i started primary education at Catholic High School. Couldn't remember the last time it was painted. As JX remarked when he came to pick up a copy of SA from me, don't the scaffolding look like a scene from the seige of Gondor in LOTR? Painting workers were friendly uncles who were strong in hokkien vocabulary. It was fun listening to them for the past three days...

Tomorrow got dissertation discussion again. GG-fied. Must... churn... out... something cuz last week didn't go. Anyhowz, decided to stop living in denial after an unexpected phone call from Mr San. Totally out of the blue called my home when I was feeling drowsy in the afternoon heat, and chit-chat for 10 minutes. Dun even know who i was talking to the first 30 seconds of the conversation. Haha. The call was nice, but the results... Got wat I deserved lah... It is bad results... but will get over it, soon i hope.

Remember I was harping about the 2nd carpenter guy who sort of agreed that my display cabinet design was buildable. Well, he came to take measurements and told me that I need to pay $1000 more. My glass doors are supposed to be frameless glass that are 1500 x 600, and he tells me it is too dangerous cuz it will wobble as I open and close it. The solution? Well, add an aluminum trimming, which he wants to charge me $260 more for each door. Turned him down. Waste my time and his time... Jaded loh... It's either back to the drawing board or back to Ikea. Still thinking which one... Sigh.
