We got bored waiting in the queue as the long line of people slowly inched towards the entrance of the museum. Really thankful for having a waterproof jacket with a hood, so as to keep out the unpredictable rain that will come down any instant, even when the sun was shining brightly a second ago! Entrance into the museum is 10 Euros. Craig questioned the ticketing officer why there weren't discounts for students, and that it was our lunch money for tomorrow he was taking! The kind officer only said that he felt guilty, but the reason is because they realized students take a longer time in the museum than any other regular visitor!

In Greek Mythology, Hermes, son of Zeus, was his messenger. Being a messenger, he must be high in speed, dexterity and agility. A distinguishing characteristic was that he wore a winged cap! It was probably where Alex Ross drew from for DC Comic's the Flash in his rendition of the character in Kingdom Come.

Written on the plaque: "Cupid, the god of love, quietly draws an arrow from his quiver. Meanwhile, smiling mischieviously, he warns the observer to keep silent and not to betray him. Who the arrow was intended for is uncertain, but the threat is clear. On the pedestal the inscription states 'Whoever you are, this is your master. That he is, that he was and that he will be.' "

The museum houses many of Rembrandt's paintings and sketches. Miniatures of his works may be purchased and brought home in the museum's gift shop as postcards, calenders, etc. The visit was memorable and enjoyable!
