Berlin 4/4
We visited the Berlin Victory Column, on which stands the statue of Victoria. It was a massive tower standing in the centre of a vehicular roundabout. This landmark structure was built in 1864 to commemorate the Prussian victory in the Danish-Prussian war. Today we could see bullet marks probably left there during bombardments in WWII.
The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church was bombed in WWII and left in its state after the war as a constant reminder of the destructions of it. Beside it is a new chuch and memorial hall.
A trip to Germany ain't complete without trying out their famous sausages! We all had sausages with bread before heading down to the Jewish Museum by Daniel Libeskind. The building is a powerful and symbolic representation of the Jewish history in the country. Shall let the pictures do the talking :) Bought a book with its plans and sections and wonderful pictures and articles about the architecture. Go back can borrow from me if u want~!
