    Berlin 1/4

Our trip began early morning as we braved the 5am cold winds and cycled to Delft train station to take a train to Amsterdam before taking another train to Berlin. At first we thought it was free seating and took pretty comfortable seats. Later the conductor came and told us that the seats weren't ours and we had to downgrade to... well, foldable chairs as seen below. Sigh... It was such a long journey, by the time we reached our bodies were all aching!

A look at our hostel and the interiors. Sunflower hostel is run by very friendly group of staff and the rooms and toilets are very clean! Highly recommended! We put our stuff down into the lockers and headed straight back to Berlin HBF (yea we know all the U-bahns and S-bahns by now) to meet Juliana, Cheewee and the "mysterious SMG girl", Shengzhi (who turns out to be Shengrong's younger sister from Hwachong! What a small world!). SZ and CW are our tour guides who's done research on places to go in Berlin. All we gotta do is follow~! Our first stop: Norman Foster's Reichstag!

Always dreamt of visiting this building and was overjoyed by the sight of it. Felt like a small boy opening his birthday present as we climbed up the spirals of this construction feat of a glass dome. It was overwhelming. I was super darn happy the hour we spent inside the dome... It was a dream come true.

The dome is topped by a circular skylight opened to the environment. Totally impressive!!! I saw some poser trying to take a photo of himself by himself... The opportunity was too hard to resist! I had to jump into the picture too! HAHA!

Check out the queue that's inching towards the front door of the building. An hour ago we were also in the queue, which probably took us 30 minutes before we entered the glass elevator that brought us up to the dome. Guess what we were talking about while waiting? CM's group's construction and technology panel on the Reichstag getting thrown away when studio space was cleared for examinations... Haha...
