    Berlin 2/4

The Holocaust Memorial by Peter Eisenman was a pretty nice sculpture garden with massive blocks of concrete plunged into an undulating tiled floor that rises and falls in waves. While on the surface, the blocks look pretty short, they are actually quite tall as u walk in between them.

The remains of the Berlin wall that once separated the city into two. Alongside it was a photo exhibition about WWII, called the Topography of Terror. Next, we went to Checkpoint Charlie which was the checkpoint leaving the American sector when there was East and West Berlin.

Our last stop for the day was at Sony Centre by Helmut Jahn. The tensile roof opens out radially like a flower in bloom, and it's supposed to change colours. Well, while we were there it was only white so... -.-" Nonetheless pretty spectacular. We were there in the day too, so check out the day and night contrasts...!

There's something about Mr San that I respek (Ali G style, yaw), which is that when there is something to do, he will keep working on it until it is done (Like for the Friday and Saturday that just passed he just sat at the computer screen working on Revit for the WHOLE 2 DAYS!). Something a procrastinator like myself need to learn a thing or two about. Here we see him sketching his thoughts down into his sketchbook (which he carried for the trip... My bag was already filled to the seams and about to burst with all my clothes... Sigh...) Oh, red baby elephant spotted along the streets of Berlin!
